  he told me that he was able to get through his 70's with few problems.

  Recently, I was speaking with an older brother who is well into his 80's and is a widower. He explained to me that it is tough getting old and that "nothing works right anymore". He told me that he was able to get through his 70's with few problems. But now that he is in his 80's, he is having significant health issues. He seems to be taking it in stride though. I said; "Hey, pretty soon, you will be younger than me!" (I certainly do not believe that, but that is besides the point.) So he looks at me and starts laughing hysterically and says, "I sure hope so!"

  It was kind of funny and sad at the same time. Here you have an elderly man who has been a loyal subject for most of his adult life, lost his wife several years ago and now the paradise no longer seems real to him anymore. That is a tough pill to swallow.

  i have been pondering over the wt study last sunday.

  the title, when i first read it, told me that i was going to hear a lot of the same crap i had to put up with during the 2014 international convention.

  while some of it was there, the subliminal message given on the magazine was far from what the title implied to me.

  i know this has been talked about to death but this week our loving faithful and discreet slave wrote a letter to all congregations in canada - keep 1500.00 a month in congregation expense account each month for the next three months coverage,(4500.00 in all) 5000.00 for any problems that may arise but send rest into them.

  so aren't we lucky to have 9500.00 still left in the account!

  the elder reading the letter indicated it was for the kingdom hall building work!!!.

  a korean man named lee jin-gyr fell in love with a life sized pillow called a " darkimakura" .

  the pillow has the image of a cartoon character named fate testarossa on it from an animated cartoon mahon shaojo.

  the 28 year old man takes the pillow with him everywhere and they eventually married.. this is part of a growing subculture of men in japan who engage in relationships with pillows that have cartoon characters on them.

  over the past few decades i've met many individual jws, but i've always been curious about the gb members themselves and about service at bethel.

  first, do gb members fraternize with regular rank and file members or do they only sell out each other?

  when i was a methodist, it didn't take me long to figure out that our minister and his wife were frequently invited to dinner, but i never heard of him actually inviting members to his house for dinner.

  Having Jehovah as a friend.

  i've always found it amazing that people can say with such conviction that jehovah is their friend.. we are talking about a "friend" who perhaps daily "tests" us to see if we are his friends.

  all of us have dealt with some form of hardship such as the death of a loved one, chronic illness or whatever.

  it is in these cases that the brothers will tell a person that perhaps it is a test, or that "jehovah knows you're not ready" or some other lame excuse.. do our real friends "test" us to see if we will be loyal to them?
